Mended Hearts members support our community in many ways. As heart patients and caregivers, we are acutely aware of the value of our cardiac care staff. Over the years, the Virginia Peninsula Chapter 119 has made over $3,000 in scholarship awards to cardiac care staff to support and encourage of their educational endeavors.
In April 2000, members of chapter 119 volunteered to help the new Kroger
grocery store register their Kroger Plus cards. Members worked in shifts for a total of over 60 hours. Kroger generously donated $1,000 to our chapter for our efforts. All of these funds were then donated to the Riverside Healthcare Foundation in the form of a scholarship to the RRMC cardiac care staff.
